Banksy – CCTV

Look at the camera’s, watching you; do you feel comfortable with it? CCTV stands for closed circuit television, also known as video surveillance; it is the use of video cameras to transmit a signal to a specific place on a set of monitors. Commonly used in law-enforcement, traffic observation, automated ticketing and observation of neighbourhoods and areas. The use of CCTV has fuelled privacy concerns in many parts of the world and is therefore seen as a controversial issue. Banksy is known to protest against the British surveillance society as you can see in the works placed in this room.
